SUMMARY:Interior: Packet boat and sound factory: the Flagey building - group 2 (EN)
DESCRIPTION:Architecture and acoustics in harmony \nThe iconic radio building on the ever-bustling Flagey Square was erected between 1935 and 1938 as a pioneering “sound factory” for the National Institute for Radio Broadcasting. Architect Joseph Diongre gave the complex its characteristic shape of a stately packet boat\, a concept that impressed internationally thanks to its innovative architecture\, exceptional functionality\, and groundbreaking acoustics. \nToday\, we know the building as Flagey\, a vibrant cultural hub. It houses not only concert halls\, studios\, and meeting spaces\, but also an active radio and TV station that keeps the building’s original purpose alive. The fact that Flagey still stands is remarkable: at the end of the 20th century\, due to its lamentable condition\, demolition was proposed. Thanks to strong public mobilization followed by restoration\, it is now a recognizable\, protected\, and beloved city icon that we can admire today. \nDuring the tour\, you will discover the hidden world behind the rounded façades: the original recording studios\, technical rooms\, and the impressive engine room. This offers a unique glimpse into a modernist masterpiece that not only breathes history but continues to play a role in Brussels’ cultural landscape every day. \n\nPurchased tickets can be refunded up to a maximum of 15 calendar days before the event.\nA €2 administration fee per ticket will be charged for refunds.\nTickets may be transferred to others.\nPlease show your ticket spontaneously to the guide upon arrival.\nAll sales conditions apply.

SUMMARY:Interior: La Nouvelle Maison – Henry Van de Velde in Tervuren (ENG)
DESCRIPTION:La Nouvelle Maison in Tervuren\, near Brussels\, has recently been restored with the utmost care and love under the direction of architect Guido Stegen. \nArchitect Henry van de Velde himself moved there with his family in 1927. The house reveals refined details and a subtle colour palette\, which have been restored to their original state after almost a century. \nIn his artistic career\, van de Velde is a painter\, decorator\, designer and finally architect. After an Art Nouveau period\, around 1900 he opted for a rational design\, resulting in the disappearance of decoration\, and a blurred distinction between art and artisanship\, which would lead to Bauhaus. \nLa Nouvelle Maison is the fourth and last house that Henry van de Velde (1863-1957) built for his family. All other houses\, designed for the van de Velde-Sèthe family\, had a different style. \nThe style of La Nouvelle Maison is clearly modernist\, but in Henry van de Velde’s very personal way\, with a lot of attention to mass\, particularly accentuated by rounded angels\, or as Henry van de Velde himself put it: “An architecture reduced to masses\, with a dialogue between open and closed surfaces\, an architecture anchored in the earth\, as if it were born out of it and rising up. \nThe house is built in the middle of a triangular plot\, the eastern part of which served as an orchard\, vegetable garden and bleaching meadow\, and the western part as an open landscape\, overlooking avenue de Tervurenlaan. \nTerms of Sale \n\n\n\n\nTickets purchased can be refunded up to 15 calendar days before the event.\nAn administrative fee of €2 per ticket will be deducted upon refund.\nTickets may be transferred to another person.\nPlease present your ticket to the guide upon arrival without being prompted.\nAll terms of sale apply.\n\n\n\nOther conditions and agreements for a successful visit: \n\nPhotography is prohibited: This is a private residence\, and we want to respect the owner’s privacy. Photographers can sometimes be so focused on getting the perfect shot that they don’t pay attention to others or the interior\, which can cause damage.\nDo not lean against the walls: The walls have been carefully treated\, and we want to keep them in good condition.\nWear overshoes or walk in socks: This helps to keep the interior clean and undamaged. Korei Guided Tours provides overshoes.\nRespect the private nature of the residence: La Nouvelle Maison is not a museum but a private home. Treat the house with respect and do not touch magazines or drawers.\nFollow the instructions of the supervisor: If you do not follow the guidelines\, the supervisor may address you. Repeated inappropriate behavior can result in the visit being terminated.\nBe prepared for rainy weather: Part of the visit takes place in the garden\, even in the rain.

SUMMARY:Interior: Hotel Solvay - carte blanche for Victor Horta (EN)
DESCRIPTION:The Solvay House is widely regarded as one of Victor Horta’s most significant achievements and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In 1894\, Armand Solvay\, the son of industrialist Ernest Solvay\, commissioned the Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta to design a residence for him and his family. This house would be constructed on Brussels’ Avenue Louise. \nThe revolutionary architect Victor Horta broke with all forms of architectural tradition. Every element was rethought by the master builder in terms of technical progress. This is evident in the spatial arrangement\, the choice of materials\, the heating\, ventilation\, and lighting. \nFor the creation of the Solvay House\, Horta was given no budgetary constraints\, allowing the architect to go to the utmost limits. From the floor plan to the choice of marbles\, from the furniture to the chandeliers and carpets\, everything in this house bears his signature. \nPrice: 40 € (this includes the entry ticket and the guided tour) \nAttention:\n\nIt is not permitted to take photos inside the building.\nChildren under 12 years old are not allowed by the owners of the building.\nPlease dress warmly under your coat: coats and bags must be left at the entrance\, and not all areas of the building are heated.\n\nSales conditions\n\nPurchased tickets can be refunded up to a maximum of 15 calendar days before the event.\nA handling fee of 2 Euro per ticket will be charged for refunds.\nTickets may be passed on to someone else.

SUMMARY:Walk & interior: Tour & Taxis (EN)
DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to take you behind the scenes of the ever-evolving Tour & Taxis site. \nWe begin at the Royal Warehouse\, where a scale model introduces us to the vast site\, its history\, and its changing functions over time. We also gain insight into new developments: which projects have already been completed\, and what’s still in the pipeline? \nFrom the Royal Warehouse\, we take a look inside the vaulted cellars of the Sheds and then visit the Maison de la Poste (only during office hours). In the early 20th century\, this building served as the administrative center of Tour & Taxis and later as a post office. After a recent restoration\, it has become a stunning venue for hosting events. \nAs a grand finale\, we discover the newly restored\, monumental\, and breathtaking Gare Maritime: a city within the city where it never rains. The gigantic halls stretch 175 meters deep and rest on slender cast-iron pillars with Art Nouveau elements. Built between 1902 and 1908\, the station was once the largest freight station in Europe. Architect Jan De Moffarts (JDMA)\, together with Bureau Bouwtechniek and Neutelings Riedijk Architects—known for the MAS in Antwerp—renovated the building and added new elements that blend in beautifully. \nFor those with more time\, the tour can be extended to explore the entire Tour & Taxis site: the development of the new park\, the building of the Flemish Community\, the IBGE building\, and more. \nTerms of Sale \n\nTickets purchased can be refunded up to 15 calendar days before the event.\nAn administrative fee of €2 per ticket will be deducted upon refund.\nTickets may be transferred to another person.\nPlease present your ticket to the guide upon arrival without being prompted.\nAll terms of sale apply.

SUMMARY:#ArtDeco2025 - interior: van Buuren Museum & Gardens (EN)
DESCRIPTION:The Roaring Twenties in Ukkel \nThe house of banker and patron David van Buuren was built in 1928. The exterior is a typical example of Amsterdam School architecture. \nThe interior is a masterpiece of the Art Deco style\, designed by renowned Belgian\, French\, and Dutch designers. The museum-like house retains the intimate atmosphere of a private home\, featuring rare furniture\, signed carpets\, stained glass windows\, sculptures\, and paintings by Belgian and international masters\, all in their original places. \nIn 1913\, Mr. van Buuren purchased his first painting by Gustaaf van de Woestijne\, later acquiring around 30 more works by this Latem artist. This valuable collection\, including works by Hercules Seghers\, Pieter Bruegel the Elder\, Georges Minne\, and Rik Wouters\, is still on display in the house. After her husband’s death\, Mrs. van Buuren lovingly maintained the now-classified garden in honor of her husband and their unique Art Deco home. Today\, the “Friends of the David and Alice van Buuren Museum” foundation manages both the museum and the gardens. \nMuseum admission is not included: €15 per person (ticket payable on-site – reductions possible) \nTerms of Sale: \n\nPurchased tickets can be refunded up to 15 calendar days before the event.\nA €2 administration fee per ticket will be charged for refunds.\nTickets can be transferred to others.
